Hatch

Creates a pattern of lines to fill a selected bounding curves.

Steps:

1. Select closed planar curves.

2. Specify the pattern, scale, and rotation.

Options

Boundary

Click inside a closed boundary to hatch that area.

DeleteInput

None

Deletes no input curves.

All

Deletes all input curves.

Used

Deletes only the parts of the input curves that correspond to the newly-created curves.

CombineRegions

Yes

Selected regions combine to create a single hatch.

No

Each region is hatched separately.

Pattern

The defined hatch pattern.

Pattern Rotation

Rotation angle for hatch pattern.

Pattern Scale

Scale for the hatch pattern.

Notes:

• If the curves are all on the same plane, the hatch always is drawn on the plane of the curves.

• If the curves are not planar, the hatch is drawn on the construction plane.

• Note: Hatch pattern files are located in the Rhino Support folder.

Hatch patterns

• Hatch patterns that are loaded in a model are saved with the model. Hatch patterns can also be included in template files.

• Use the Properties command, Hatch page to change an existing hatch pattern, rotation, or scale.

• When you run the Hatch command, the list of patterns is made up from what ever is in the .3dm file and the patterns in the text file hatchpatterns*.txt.

• Edit the hatch definition file HatchPatterns_*.txt (_* = 1033 for English).

• Rhino will also read an AutoCAD ACAD.PAT file.

• Remove unwanted hatch patterns from the file with the Purge command.

To use hatch patterns defined in another Rhino model

• Edit the hatch definition file HatchPatterns_1033.txt (for English).

• Import a model that contains the hatch pattern definitions (this can be a blank model).

• Define hatch patterns in the template files.

• Copy an object with the hatch pattern and paste it into your current model.
